so, i've been really bad and I haven't updated in what feels like one hundred years. a lot has been going on! im just posting to catch anyone still reading this up on some of my favorite photos as of lately, with many more to hopefully follow!
U.S. Royalty, from Washington DC. Words can not describe how awesome these guys really are. I've seen then three times in 2 months, and I plan on catching them everytime they're near. Expect a lot from them here, and all over very soon. They're on the verge of something GREAT.
I promised updates, and I'm going to keep them coming!! Next up I have the lovely and talented Andy Davis. My best friend (and fantassssstic musician) Brandon Clark turned me on to Andy a few years ago, and I've been rockin' to his piano filled love songs ever since. I was lucky enough to see him live and shoot some photos, and then have Andy and his bass player come by my office the next day and model some gloves my boss has designed. I cropped the gloves out of some of them just to make them look a little less like an advertisment. They were both nice guys, I'd love to shoot both of them again, maybe without the gloves haha.
So. This is LONG overdue. I've been shooting like crazy, and failing to update everyone on my progress. So this is the first of many blogs that I will post in the next few hours/days. First on the list: Copeland. It's no secret that I love this band, I have since I was 16. They keep getting better, and everytime I see them live, they knock me off their feet. Aaron Marsh has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, and his band just brings it to the next level. I love that they still play songs off their first albums after all these years, hearing "Brightest" and "When Paula Sparks" still give me chills live. Here are just a few shots of Copeland and their opening band, This Providence.
And Copeland guitarist was cool enough to spent a little up-close-and-personal time with Brooke and I in South Paw's photo booth, here's a peek at some of the results:All Photos By E
It is ALWAYS a pleasure to be around William Fitzsimmons. I got to see him play with Rosi Golan this weekend, and there was no lack of excitement. Although William's music is VERY sad (but so amazingly beautiful), he is a HILAROUS guy. And all the divorce songs in the world couldn't get you down with that fantastic beard around :)
Last night I got a second chance go to Mercury Lounge to shoot the Alternate Routes, a band managed by Brick Wall Management (where I am currently working). They are a great band, and last nights show was SO high energy. I dont know what it was, but they were really on their game last night. They were even better then a few months ago when they opened for Wertz. You will probably be able to see from the photos but the band AND the crowd seemed to have a great time, and it was a real blast.
I got the EXTREME honor of shooting the Sons of William/Slow Runner/Damnwells show this weekend. Honestly, The Damnwells are one of the top 5 best live bands I have ever seen. Their sound is so true to their album, but full and rockin all the same. They played a huge set list really late at night, but everyone stuck around to see them. Below are some of my favorite shots from the night, more will be myspaced/posted on my website I’m sure. I may also post some of my shots of SOW and Slow Runner when I’m finished editing.
